Video in deskphone not working

Hi,

The video in deskphone mode is not working although the configs necesary were done. The "start my video" button is available but clicking on it has no effect. The phone is connected to the PC, the "enable video" parameter is set to "true" on the phone config page, the MSI was installed in Win 7.

In softphone mode everything is ok.

Any suggestions on how to solve this?

Environment:

Jabber for Win 9.1.2  (MSI installed)

CUCM 8.6.2

Presence 8.6.4

7911 and 7940 phones

Thank you,

Daniel

I must add that the status of the deskphone is:

Help->show connection status:

Deskphone Video:

Status: Unavailable

Reason: Unknown

When I go to Softphone mode the Status is still Unavailable but i have:

"Deskphone video is not available in softphone mode." But video is working.

The camera is working and detected correctly by jabber.

Any suggestions for this?

Upgrading to 9.1.3 made the status as available but still no video:

Softphone - None

Status: Not Connected

Address: 192.168.100.200 (CCMCIP)

Protocol: CCMCIP

Deskphone - Healthy

Status: Connected

Address: 192.168.100.200 (CTI)

Protocol: CTI

Device:SEP1C17D3C2E058

Line:3018

Deskphone Video - Healthy

Status: Available

Anyone ?

Hi,

This doesn't seem it is a problem. You can be either in deskphone mode or in softphone mode, you cannot be in both.

So once you are in deskphone mode (like above) your softphone will be unregistered and the status will be 'not connected'

Once you switch to your softphone then it will be the other way around.

HTH,

Christos

Yes Christos,

I agree with you. In my last reply I was just posting the correct output of the connection status after solving the initial problem (Status:Unavailable).

Now the status being Available I still don't have any video.

Thank you,

Daniel

So it turned out that I was hitting the issue mentioned in Release Notes:

• A compatibility issue exists with Cisco Unified IP Phones that use firmware version SCCP45.9-2-1S.

Y ou must upgrade your firmware to version SCCP45.9-3-1 to use desk phone video capabilities.

Plus adding the two roles to the user (besides the CTI Enabled role already assigned):

Standard CTI Allow Control of Phones supporting Connected Xfer and conf

Standard CTI Allow Control of All Devices

So the question can be considered Answered.
