Good afternoon,

I seem to be having an issue with direct camera control.

The setup is this:  1080p Camera, directly on the COM port of a Crestron PRO2.  I have tried using the provided module (V1.0) which has access to the speed control.  While I can see the value going up and down, the speed of the camera doesn't change.

That being said, I'm looking to interface it to a Crestron C2N-CAMIDJ joystick, so I'm writing my own module.

Whether I send:
\x81\x01\x06\x01\x01\x01\x01\x03\xFF or \x81\x01\x06\x01\x0A\x0A\x01\x03\xFF, the speed of the camera doesn't change.

Camera info is as follows:
Software date:  2010-10-20
Software ID:  40063
Software Version:  S01718-4.0FINAL.

Any insight?

Thanks,
Martin Menard

Hi Martin,

ah, going back a while since I wrote that module. However I recall having to set the IR_CameraControl_Off (8x 01 06 09 02 ff) to allow for speed control.

Regards,
David

Hi David,

Thanks for your answer.  Unfortunately, that didn't do it.  Here are a few more updates.

Firstly, I think the command that needs to be sent is 8x 01 06 09 03 FF (according to the manual anyways, 02 is IR ON, 03 is IR OFF).  In any case, regardless which one of those commands I send, neither gets an acknowledgement from the camera (or any other responses, unlike any other commands I send to it).

I tried the speed controlled command even though I was lacking an acknowledgement, and same results as before.  Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Martin

Hi again David.

Problem solved (I think).  After a reboot of the camera, it finally started acknowledging the IR OFF command, and speed control now works.

Have a nice day,
Martin
