Hi admin,

Are there any limitations the number of comments on each post on facebook? for example, only downloaded 30 comments alone. And another case is the existence of a post that was not downloaded by social miner, when we check the status of feeds for fanpage in inactive condition. and when the condition of active status post data feeds currently inactive condition is not downloaded. Polling interval setup: * is 1 minute

Thx,

Esraldi

In the fanpage looks there are 100 more comments but not all of them downloaded, whether to update again?

Hi Esraldi,

Due to changes made to the Facebook APIs after SocialMiner 9.0.1 was released, SocialMiner 9.0.1 is nondeterministic in what it retrieves from Facebook. For more predictable results please apply SocialMiner COP 4. With this update, SocialMiner will retrieve the 50 most recent posts along with the most recent 500 comments for each post.

If you are already using SocialMiner COP 4, would you please send the Facebook page as well as the posts/comments that are causing problems.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Esraldi,

Is https://www.facebook.com/cc123pln a valid fan page? I don't seem to be able to access it from a browser. I also tried using Facebook's Graph API to make the same request SocialMiner does. I see no posts:

{
  "data": [

}

Hi Esraldi,

Is SocialMiner retrieving any posts at all? Is http://www.facebook.com/cc123pln the URL that you used to configure your Facebook Fan Page feed?

Like I said in the previous email, when I use Facebook's Graph API Explorer, I don't see any posts or comments. It seems unlikely that SocialMiner would be retrieving any posts using that URL. The best thing to do at this point would be the following:
  • forward SocialMiner's Runtime logs for a timeframe where SocialMiner missed a comment
  • forward the text and author of the comment that SocialMiner missed
  • forward the Facebook URL that I could use to access the Facebook Fan Page
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Esraldi,

Do you have the runtime logs as well? Also, does this page have any restrictions (age, location, etc) that may prevent me from accessing the page?

I'm sorry it is taking so long to get to the bottom of this, but it is important to have either the runtime logs or access to the page itself. The logs and Facebook's Graph API explorer will help to see what SocialMiner is getting from Facebook.

Hi Esraldi,

You get the runtime logs as follows:
  • log into SocialMiner using the administration account
  • Click the Administration tab
  • Click the System Logs folder under System Administration
  • Click the log directory link. This will open a new tab in your browser.
  • In the new tab, click the runtime link
  • This will list all of the runtime logs on your SocialMiner
The log file names are formatted with a timestamp in the name. For example, the log fileCCBU-runtime.2013-12-10T17-37-49.579.startup.log.zip contains log statements starting at 17:37:49 on December 10, 2013. Match this timestamp with a timeframe where SocialMiner missed a Facebook comment.

Also, please let me know if your Facebook fan pa...

Mark

Dear marks,

Here I send the log in question
http://www.ziddu.com/download/23546073/CCBU-runtime.2014-01-22T00-41-57.391.log.zip.html

From the discussion and the log there are some things I need to ask:
1. Are there setup on facebook to age limitation?
2. In the log there is information that there is:
 "Property facebookFeedResultsLimit is set to 50. Only the last 50 posts will be retrieved" and "Retrieved 50 posts. Ranges Post ID: xxx-xxx"
- >> Whether this limitation of social miner? only 50 posts in the capture

note: see http://www.facebook.com/cc123pln

thx,

esraldi

Hi Esraldi,

It looks like your Facebook feed for http://www.facebook.com/cc123pln is functioning properly. Here are some log statements that show the feed retrieving posts and comments from Facebook:

0004914516: 10.14.150.23: Jan 22 2014 09:53:19.443 +0700: %CCBU__________FEEDS-6-FACEBOOK_FETCHER: %[FEED_ID=100023][FEED_URL=http://www.facebook.com/cc123pln]: Social Contact created [POST_ID=500946933268835_765289580167901]
0004914517: 10.14.150.23: Jan 22 2014 09:53:19.443 +0700: %CCBU__________FEEDS-6-FACEBOOK_FETCHER: %[FEED_ID=100023][FEED_URL=http://www.facebook.com/cc123pln]: Retrieved 3 comments for the post [POST_ID=500946933268835_765289580167901]
...
0004914522: 10.14.150.23: Jan 22 2014 09:53:19.444 +0700: %CCBU__________FEEDS-6-FEED_REQUEST_COMPLETED: %[FEED_ID=100023][FEED_URL=http://www.facebook.com/cc123pln][SOCIAL_CONTACTS_COUNT=183][UNCACHED_SOCIAL_CONTACTS_COUNT=0]: Successfully completed feed request job.
0004914523: 10.14.150.23: Jan 22 2014 09:53:20.406 +0700: %CCBU__________FEEDS-6-CONTACTS_QUEUED: %[FEED_ID=100060][FEED_URL=null][SOCIAL_CONTACTS_COUNT=14]: The social contacts have been queued for processing
0004914524: 10.14.150.23: Jan 22 2014 09:53:20.406 +0700: %CCBU__________FEEDS-6-FEED_REQUEST_COMPLETED: %[FEED_ID=100060][FEED_URL=null][SOCIAL_CONTACTS_COUNT=785][UNCACHED_SOCIAL_CONTACTS_COUNT=14]: Successfully completed feed request job.

Are these posts and comments not showing up in the campaign with which your feed is associated? Is it that comments for older posts are not showing up? If so, that could be due to the 50 post limitiation that you noticed. How many posts are made to your Facebook page in a day? How many posts back would you like to go for comments?

Thanks,
Mark
