When we were on GW IOS version 12.4.13.F we could intermix TTS with audio files  within one Audio element and the Gatwway would play the audio files and send the TTS stream to the TTS server.  Then when we upgraded the GW to IOS version 12.4.15T13, the complete audio element would play as one TTS stream after an extremely long pause.  After 6 weeks, TAC finally figured out the problem.  The underlying VMXL on the GW had been changed to make it compatible with the VMXL 2.0 standard.  This had the undesirable effect of causing CVP Studio applications not to work properly.  Unfortunately, there is no documentation in the IOS release nodes nor on any CVP Studio documentation.  The workaround is to break up each audio element into multiple audio elements so as not to mix the audio files or Say-It-Smart with pre-recorded audio with the TTS.

Hi Anne,

Thanks for this update I've had trouble in the past mixing audio and TTS
with H323 but haven't had that problem with SIP. Are you using H323 or
SIP? Are you using cvp 3.1, 4.0, 4.1, or 7?

Again, thanks for sharing that workaround!
Janine

Anne,
Which CVP version are you using? Thanks for the info. Has TAC give any patch?
Also are you saying that if you have an audio file it is playing it entirely as an TTS, based on the text. If so ot would mean that the vxml gateway is not picking up the audio file and then playing it as TTS.
