Hi,

We have a control system connected to a C40. The C40 also has the Cisco touch panel, connected on Network Port 2. The customer insists on having the Cisco TP usable alongside the control system touch panel (many rooms only have a cisco touch panel and cart type system, and they want people to be able to use it in this room even though it is advanced, long story...)

Anywho... As soon as the touch panel is connected, the IR remote control stops working, and most of the commands from the control system stop working as well. Anything having do to with the UI does not work via RS-232. IR Emulation of button presses such as number keys, home screen, etc, will not work. The only thing that does continue to work is the camera controls.

If you disconnect the Cisco TP, and wait a minute or two for the codec to realize the TP is gone, the IR remote starts to function again, as do the control system commands. It's imperative that we can mimic the remote control from the control system panel (ie, keydown, keyup, keypress).

We called support and the engineering team sent an email today and told us to post here. Any help to be able to access ALL of the RS-232 commands while the Cisco touch panel is connected would be appreciated.

Thanks,

K

Hi David,
with a touch panel connected you do no longer have an onScreen UI and since the key commands are only to be used for UI they are therefore disabled.
What is it from the control systems touch panel that you need to have continue working together with the Cisco touch panel?

There are discrete commands for everything on the codec to perform anything you want without using key commands...

David
