Hello,
My customer has CVP 8.0 and is planning a CVP r.8.5 upgrade (soon).

They want more informaiton on (I'm asking for your direction on):
- How can they use SMS with CVP (a use case or two)?
I was thinking PIN/Password reset
Your oder is ready
Your bill is due
Assuming there aren't use cases where CVP can 'receive' SMS - if there are, I would be interested in how that might work

- What additional products or hardware (3rd party or Cisco) is needed for SMS to work with CVP?

- We've heard SMS works with CVP by useing the email element - is there other ways to work with SMS via CVP?

Interested in your comments or pointers to collateral, thank you ~
dst

You can integrate with some of the SMS servers out there.  You can look for some java solutions out there. Here is one:
http://smsj.sourceforge.net/
Email will work as long as you have the email add of the customer which can vary from the no and could be different for each carrier.

Using SMS by email is the only way I can think of. What would be challenging is each carrier requires the email to be sent to a different address. I don't know how you could find that out.
