I am working on a simple system, but need to figure out how to use (1) 720P Precision HD camera and share it between (2) 6000mxp codecs. The "Switch" should be controllable via AMX. Has anyone done this sucessfully? How would I go about it? Only one codec will be active at any one time and reboots between codec changes wil be possible and automated via amx.

hey Will, i haven't done this, but food some thoughts i would like to share.
1. you will need to use a RS 232 device that allows serial string pass-thru ( 2 ports to 1)
2. you will need to power the cameras separately with a direct power source.
3. you will need to remove the power pin on the camera cable DB9 to RJ45 ( to prevent any problems)
4. then i would suggest powering off the codec that is not being used or some how in you program block the traffic on the port while the room is active.
