I have an older video room based on an 6000MXP codec using two Vaddio HD18 cameras connected to the Tandberg Video Switch. The HD18 cameras are capable of 52 degrees horizontal at their widest. I need a wider field of view and would like to purchase two Tandberg PrecisionHD 1080p 12X cameras (72 degree at widest) to replace the Vaddios. Later in 2014, I plan to replace the entire system with a C-Series based design and then re-use the Cisco Precision HD 1080p cameras.
My question:
Can I use two Cisco PrecisionHD 1080p cameras on the Tandberg Video Switch if I set them to 720p and convert the HDMI output to DVI-D? I assume, I cab still use Visca from the MXP to control these cameras.
It seems to be that this should work.
Thanks in advance,
Marc

Has nobody done this? Can anyone think of a reason it wouldn't work? Input appreciated...

Hi Marc,
I think this will most likely work, however it needs to be tested. This is a combination we have not tested or documented as a supported solution. Having said that the PrecisionHD 1080p cameras is using Visca for control and by setting it to fixed 720p there is a good chance it will work.
Best regards
