Some of my notes say that "SNMP is designed for H/W rather than software - discouraged for using to monitoring S/W ... JMX is something planned for Audium 4.0"

What's Audium's current view on SNMP and support in future?

I didn't know this when I wrote those notes, but we actually use JMX for our SNMP support. We still believe that SNMP is better designed for hardware monitoring than software monitoring, but you should be able to use SNMP on Windows to monitor Audium software.

We are still working on coming up with an improved OA&M process in Audium 4.0, but that is still a ways off.

Its also something that if our customers and partners demand it, we will add features sooner. Currently, very few of our customers and partners use SNMP with Audium.
