Hi,

It seems like a very common thing to want to play some fetchaudio to caller when doing a database dip (either with XML API or Java API).

I know there's a work around of creating one's own voice element to do this, but voice elements are hard to write for the average person using Studio.

Is there some way audium can create an element that somehow makes this process simpler? Obviously the database dip part will be done by heavy duty programmers. But, if they don't have to worry about wrapping this inside a home grown voice element, life would be easier.

Just an idea.

Hi Janine,

Thanks for the feedback. Currently, developers can set the VoiceXML properties:

fetchtimeout
fetchaudio

via Audium Studio (either in the root document, or on the Settings tab of a particular voice element) to specify audio to play during lengthy tasks. This does not require any custom programming, as this functionality is provided by the VoiceXML 2.0 spec itself.

If this does not meet your needs, please provide some additional information about how you would prefer this to work so that we can enter a feature request into our issue-tracking system.

Regards,
Vance
