I found it difficult to configure the native call queueing initially. But when i figured it out, thought of sharing here.
Requirement:
Play an initial welcome greeting and then send the call to line group member if available else play the periodic announcement.
Solution:
Step 1:
upload the initial welcome greeting in all the nodes.
1. Media Resources >> Announcement
2. Add New
Enter the name and a meaningful description.
Note: you don't find the option to upload the file until you save the configuration.
Save the configuration.
you will now have option to upload the wav file.
Please upload the file into a locale that are in use and save the configuration,.
The wave should be uploaded into all the call manager nodes in the deployment.
Also, repeat the same if you want to play any periodic announcement while call in the queue.
Step 2:
Upload the MOH audio source if you want to use a custom.
1. Media Resources >> Music On Hold Audio File Managemen
2. Click on Upload File. This required to be done on all call manager nodes.
Step 3:
Configure Music On Hold Server Audio Source
Media Resources >> Music On Hold Server Audio Source
Add New
Choose the next MOH stream number from the drop-down box.
(Note: As per the configuration snapshot given below the audio will be played from MOH server instead of annunciator)
MOH Audio Source File --> the one which you uploaded for queue music.
Initial Announcement --> The announcement that you have uploaded in the first step (welcome greeting). This will be played to the caller initially.
Periodic Announcement --> The announcement which needs to be played while call held in the queue.
Also ensure that you have selected the locale selected here and the audio file uploaded are same.
Save the configuration.
Step 4:
If you are using SIP trunk for PSTN connectivity, Change the Connect Inbound Call before Playing Queuing Announcement in SIP profile associated with the SIP trunk. Otherwise, the call manager failed to play the announcement for external calls.
Step 5:
Configure the hunt pilot to queue the call.
