Core Issue

The pegcount log file in the Call Session Control Platform (CSCP) 2.0 can be used to monitor the system for delay and latency within the network.

Resolution

To calculate the ratio of 408/480/INVITEs from the pegcount log file, perform these steps:

1. Login to the machine where Edge Proxy (EP) or Service Engine (SE) are installed.

2. Navigate to the Install_dir/log.

3.Look at the Delta data for the past hour. This data is located in the left column of the log file.

For example:

Message        Delta In Initial       Delta Out Initial

INVITE          1152                1152

4.Add the Delta In Initial and the Delta Out Initial of 408s and INVITEs.

5. Divide the totals of 408s by total INVITEs to get a ratio.

6. Compare this value to the same hour a week ago, to see any growth in the ratio.
