Core Issue

In a newly-created voice mail profile for a Directory Number (DN) that is a part of IP Manager Assistant (IPMA), the voice mail profile does not change if it is changed from none to the new profile. The message button changes to the new profile, but when someone calls the phone, it sends to voice mail with the none profile.

This occurs because the IPMA route point has a voice mail profile set to none. The DN part of the same IPMA uses the default voice mail profile. So when the call passes through the route point, the call is routed using the default voice mail profile.

Resolution

This issue is resolved by changing the voice mail profile of the route point to the same voice mail profile as the DN.

For more details on configuring the voice mail profile, refer to Voice-Mail Profile Configuration.
