Core Issue
These Real Time Monitoring Tool (RTMT) alerts are seen while the directory service runs properly:
[RTMT-ALERT] DirectoryReplicationFailed
Directory replication failed .
Monitored precanned object has value of 0.
[RTMT-ALERT] DirectoryConnectionFailed
Directory connection failed .
Monitored precanned object has value of 0.
There are no related Data Connection (DC) Directory error messages in the Microsoft Windows Application Event log.
Resolution
This is only a cosmetic issue as long as the directory replication is not actually broken.
This issue is documented in Cisco bug ID CSCsc85141.
One possible workaround for this issue is to disable the RTMT alerts for directory replication and connection errors. This workaround has limitations, notably that no notifications are generated when actual directory replication errors exist.
Upgrade Cisco CallManager to 4.2(1.15), 4.1(3)SR03, 4.1(3)ES45, 4.2(1)ES01, or 4.0(02a)ES85 in order to upgrade this issue.
