Can we have ongoing meetings (Meetings that don't have a duration and never ends) in WebEx? If not what is the maximum duration that is allowed for a meeting (For Meeting created through Licensed Accounts)?

Hi Lushanthan,

The duration is controlled by the session type and is generally set to 24 hours.  You may want to check with your WebEx Account Manager to see if there is one which would allow longer durations.  If you are just referring to using a single scheduled meeting instance as an ongoing meeting, you can do this without any additional configuration.  The duration you set during scheduling is only for the attendee's reference and is not actually enforced.  So a meeting scheduled for a duration of 1 hour can be kept open for 24 hours and can be started/stopped multiple times assuming you don't have the option to delete it after it's been held enabled.

But the problem is when the host closes the client, it promts whether you want to end the meeting? There is no other way he can leave the meeting without ending it.

We need a meeting that never ends may be for one year time period. So, we don't want to create the meeting always. We create one meeting that is ongoing, so that the client and host can join any time. (The time can be communicated through our system. Web-ex need not to be aware about the meeting time)

Hello,

The proposed solution does not require an always open meeting, just always available to be opened, which is a standard feature of WebEx. While it would be a new separate meeting, or a new occurence of the same meeting, each time they join, it could be made to appear as if the participants are joining the same ongoing meeting from their experience. If your meeting is not set to be deleted once it complets, as long as you don't delete it, it can be restarted as often as you wish. If a meeting is deleted, you can schedule a new meeting with the same topic name and it could be made to appear seamless to the participants. The only exception would be if they are joining by the 9 digit meeting key, in which case it would change if the meeting is deleted and rescheduled.
