Core Issue

Sonic reports critical errors messages in the queue.

Resolution

To troubleshoot this issue, perform these steps:

  1. Verify there are no interface issues (for example, netstate -ni).

  2. Navigate to where the Data Exchanger (DE) is installed, and review the de.nohup.out file for errors. Also, check connectivity to the Message Bus (MB) and Dial Access Solution (DAS).

  3. Examine the dsde.log and dsdgw.log files for errors.

  4. Telnet to the Data Gateway (DGW) and DE Command Line Interface (CLI) servers, and issue these commands to make to sure that all connections are marked as online and enabled:

    /dsdgw[data-access]>das-status
    das-status -t 1 -n SA/R_1/POPNAME/DAS/1 -s online -r 2 -u stand-by
    das-status -t 0 -n SA/R_1/POPNAME/DAS/0 -s online -r 1 -u in-use
    das-status -t 0 -n SA/R_1/DGW/DAS/0 -s online -r 1 -u in-use das-status -t 0 -n SA/R_1/POPNAME/DAS/0 -s online -r 1 -u in-use
    das-status -t 1 -n SA/R_1/DGW/DAS/1 -s online -r 2 -u stand-by
    das-status -t 1 -n SA/R_1/POPNAME/DAS/1 -s online -r 2 -u stand-by

    /dsdgw[data-access]>message-router-status
    message-router-status -i IP -p 2606 -s online -r 1 -u in-use message-router-status -i IP -p 2606 -s online -r 2 -u stand-by

    /dsdgw[data-access]>queue-status
    queue-status -n D.HARD.POPNAME.DE -s enabled
    queue-status -n D.HARD.POPNAME.DE -s enabled
    queue-status -n D.HARD.DGW.DE -s enabled

Note: If this output is received from the queue-status command, the queue is not open to receive messages:

    /dsde[data-access]>queue-status

    queue-status -n C.SOFT.DGW.DE -s enabled
    queue-status -n C.HARD.DGW.An -s receiver-enabled
    queue-status -n D.HARD.DGW.DE -s disabled

  5. To enable the queue to receive messages, issue the start-queue -n D.HARD.DGW.DE command.

Ideally, the configuration is now successful.

  6. To confirm that  everything is online and connected, issue the queue-status command again.

    /dsde[data-access]>queue-status
    queue-status -n C.SOFT.DGW.DE -s enabled
    queue-status -n C.HARD.DGW.An -s receiver-enabled
    queue-status -n D.HARD.DGW.DE -s enabled
