Created by: Stephen Denney on 11-04-2013 08:56:20 AM Hi folks, Wondering if anyone has encountered this. I have a partner asking me about support for the use of EV (Extended Validation) X.509 certificates with our UCCE/CVP apps.
I couldn't find any information on this in published UCCE/CVP documentation (SRND's, design guides, etc.). According to my limited research (Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_Validation_Certificate) , these certs are not structurally different from standard X.509 certs; they are just subject to a more extensive issuance criteria, and contain "a CA-specific policy identifier so that EV-aware software can recognize them."
To be clear, partner is *not* asking whether UCCE/CVP are "EV-aware"; they just want to know if the use of these certs is supported with UCCE/CVP. My instinct says yes, but I wanted to check for your feedback first. Any thoughts or experiences? Thanks in advance.
