Core Issue
When Domain Name System (DNS) is configured, both the forward and reverse lookup zones for Cisco CallManager must be configured. If either one of them is absent, the install fails.
Resolution
In order to use DNS on a Cisco CallManager system, make sure that the Reverse DNS Lookup function is configured and enabled. This action is necessary whether the IP address or the DNS name is used as the Cisco CallManager server name.
