Core Issue
This scenario involves a Cisco CallManager 5.0(x) environment and Cisco Unified Personal Communicator (CUPC) 1.0, PC and MAC versions.
When an attempt is made to add searched users which were added in the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), the Add Contacts to Group option is not highlighted.
If a user search result is selected, and then one right-clicks to reveal action choices, this issue is duplicated. The Add Contacts to... option is grayed out and/or the Contacts menu is not available.
Resolution
Further testing found this problem to be a deficiency in the initial release of the CUPC application, where the LDAP user must be a Cisco CallManager-configured user with the same ID.
A defect has been logged, Cisco bug ID CSCse99507, and will be addressed in a future release of CUPC.
As a workaround in the meantime, define the User ID in the Cisco CallManager Administration itself.
