Core Issue
When an attempt is made to change the Exchange partner server for Cisco Unity 4.0(5), the Cisco Unity Message Store Configuration Wizard (MSCW) runs. However, when the new server is selected, nothing happens. Then, the configuration wizard exits uncompleted. In this scenario, the registry values under HKLM/Software/Active Voice/Doh/1.0/Mail Server still show the old Exchange server.
Resolution
This situation is documented in Cisco bug ID CSCsd99610.
In order to resolve this issue, perform these steps:
- Under Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC), use the Find function in order to search for "Unity_".
- Right-click Unity_ and choose Exchange Tasks.
- Use the configuration wizard to move the mailbox to the new partner server.
- Re-run the MSCW (From the Cisco Unity Installation and Configuration Assistant, you can run the Cisco Unity Message Store Configuration wizard ).
The problem is fixed in Unity versions greater than 4.2.
Note:
A software fix for the affected, released versions of Unity would take longer to apply than the work-around.
Further troubleshooting or work-arounds: Make sure the Unity_servername account has a mailbox in the first place. If the Unity_ServerName account in AD does not have a mailbox, use ADUC to add an Exchange mailbox.
