Core Issue
A new authentication rule does not allow the voice mail password to be changed more than once in 24 hours, or 1440 minutes. If an attempt is made to change the password through the telephone user interface (TUI), the Cisco Unity displays the invalid password error message.
Resolution
The root of the problem is that, by default, the new templates do not allow password changes more than once every 24 hours, or 1440 minutes. This is the default Minimum Duration Between Credential Changes value.
This defect is tracked in Cisco bug ID CSCsi05635. One possible workaround for this issue is to complete these steps:
- Manually change the password through the change password page.
- Map the user to the default authentication rule, which is the Recommended voice mail authentication rule, through the edit password setting page.
- Change the value of Minimum Duration Between Credential Changes from 1440 to 0 in the Edit Authentication rule page for that rule.
