Resolution
RMAN utility can be used to perform data backups on DGW. RMAN utility provides flexibility, but consider these issues before using this database tool:
- If cold backups are performed, you must shut down the DGWs one at a time and re-start them after the backup. Ensure that when both DGWs comes back up, they point to the same version of Master Provisioning Data Store (MPDS).
- If a hot backup is performed, make sure that it has all the archive log files from the last cold backup, in order to restore.
