Listening to customers is a top priority for Cisco. I spend a lot of time with customers and their valuable input has directly influenced the strategic direction of our core collaboration platform.
What I’ve learned is that customer needs vary based on the perspectives of three distinct groups within the enterprise: users, IT, and CxOs.
Users just want collaboration to be simple. They want to choose which device(s) they use — including tablets, cell phones, office phones, notebooks, home phones, telepresence — and they want a consistent set of collaboration capabilities and user experiences across those devices. Period.
With so many devices and platforms to support, IT managers need consistency and simplicity in the collaboration applications and core collaboration platform they manage and support. They want systems and networks to be interoperable. All that without sacrificing reliability, security, and support.
CxOs want a return on investment. They invest in collaboration to accelerate decision making, drive more sales, improve customer service, and increase organizational efficiency. Beyond this, always on the minds of CxOs is cost of ownership, and how to minimize it. Importantly, they need to leverage their current technology investments as much as possible, and build on a solid foundation that will grow with them and adapt as long as they continue to foster effective collaboration.
I’d like to invite you to be among the first to learn about and see new innovations in Cisco’s core collaboration platform. Please join me and other Cisco leaders on June 26 from 9-9:30 a.m. Pacific time for the Cisco Collaboration Announcements Webcast. Product experts will be responding to questions during and after the webcast. Learn more and register now.
I look forward to hearing your feedback on this Collaboration Community, where the webcast is hosted, and in person as I meet with many of you in the upcoming year.
