Cisco Video Collab solution has below components:

1) Callcontrol/registration component

Cisco Communications Manager (CUCM) application provides call control, registration and administration of video endpoints.

Alternatively in older video deployments, this function could be provided by VCS-Control.

2) Video endpoints for meetings rooms

There are many options to cover various type and size of meeting rooms or office spaces (small, medium, large rooms).

For more details on available video endpoints, please see below :

Cisco Video Endpoints overview and positioning

3) Personal Video endpoints

These endpoints are designed for personal use or could be used in very small meeting rooms to support 1-2 people.

For more details on available video endpoints, please see below :

Cisco Video Endpoints overview and positioning

4) Software Video clients

Cisco Jabber is the softphone solution by Cisco that provides all-in-one client (voice/video and IM/Presence).

Works inside and outside the company premises, provides security and advanced feature set and unique integration with telephony

solution (in case Cisco Communications Manager covers also IPPBX services).

Cisco Jabber works on Windows. MaCOS, iOS (iPhone, iPAD) and Android devices.

More details on Cisco Jabber can be found here:

5) Secure Business-to-Business (B2B) Video communication

This function is provided by ExpresswayC/E solution and offers a secure way to communicate with external organizations that have H323 or SIP video endpoints over Internet. Cisco Expressway solution is well tested and proved in the market and supports latest standards (H323, SIP, H.264 AVC, BFCP, URI dialing).

6) Video Conferencing (MCU) component

With callcontrol/registration and video endpoints, you can make point-to-point video calls but you need a MCU component to have video

conferences with more than two people.

As explained in How to add Video Meetings services - for existing Cisco Communications Manager or VCS customers,

we have two options:

a) Video conferencing on premises with Cisco CMS solution

Cisco Meeting Server(CMS) is a very advanced video conferencing solution that offers also audio/web conferencing,

scheduling (via TMS), MSFT S4B/Lync interoperability and  video recording as an option.

More details on CMS solution can be found here:

Cisco Meeting Server (CMS) - overview and useful info/resources

b) Video conferencing on the cloud with Cisco Webex Meeting Center solution

Cisco Webex Meeting Center supports up to 200 web participants and 25 Video endpoints (SIP, H323, S4B/Lync) and provides a very rich web conferencing experience (chat, Q&As, etc.)

More details on the Cisco Meeting Center solution can be found here

Cisco WebEx Meeting Center - Cisco

7) Scheduling video conferences

Cisco TMS solution that works in conjuction with Cisco CMS provides scheduling capabilities (easy and user friendly smart scheduler

for users, Exchange integration, etc.)

8) Browser-based participants

Cisco CMS offers support for browser-based participants (utilizing WebRTC technology).

Cisco CMS together with Expressway solution allows external users that don't have video endpoint (SIP or H323) to join video conferences via their browser.

9) Video recording

This function is provided by a Cisco CMS addon - CMS Recorder.

More details on CMS Recorder : (post to be added soon)
