Configuring Single Number Reach on Cisco Unified CME

Introduction

This document explains how to configure Single Number Reach on Cisco Unified CME for both SCCP & SIP IP Phones.

Cisco Unified CME supports Single Number Reach for mobile users. The Single Number Reach (SNR) feature allows users to answer incoming calls to their extension on either their desktop IP phone or at a remote destination, such as a mobile phone. Users can pick up active calls on the  desktop phone or the remote phone without losing the connection. 
Remote destination includes Mobile Phones, Smart Phones, Home phone numbers in PSTN.

Sample configuration

The following example shows extension 1001 is enabled for SNR on IP phone 21. After a call rings at this number for 5 seconds, the call also rings at the remote number 4085550133. The call continues ringing on both phones for 15 seconds. If the call is not answered after a total of 20 seconds, the call no longer rings and it is forwarded to the voice-mail number 2001.

Thank you for sharing this my friend.

In CUCM you have the Remote Destination Profile where you can add plenty of phones to ring simultaneously.

What about CUCME? In best scenario you can do the below and have 2 external phones ring one after the other.

What if I need to make the internal phone, make multiple external phones ring simultaneously or sequentially?

I am just thinking out loud here, no guarantees this would work at all (it would be completely unsupported), but for the sake of trying something fun, you could attempt to set your snr number to a "voice hunt-group <#> parallel" on the CME. Within the voice hunt-group you can blast the call out to many simultaneous numbers at once.

My current lab voice gateway is not running new enough IOS to support hunt-group parallel so I have not tried it, but you could give it a go.

if we have a DN that just call forward all to an external number(DN is not assigned to any phone), can we have call forward all on multiple destinations?

Tried Hunt group but not working as hunt ignores the call forward

would SNR work in this case?
