Factory Reset MX 200 /300 G2 Codec

Factory Reset MX 200 /300 G2 Codec

The MX200 G2 and MX300 G2 can be factory reset in several ways:

  • By issuing the xAPI command: xcommand systemunit FactoryReset Confirm: Yes
  • By removing the config.db file.
  • By using the Touch panel: More - Settings - Administrator Settings - Reset

The Procedure i have explained in this video is doing a factory reset using a physical button.

While unit is in operation hold the reset button down for 5 seconds, you can choose to release and wait for the unit to reboot or hold the button in until the unit reboots as it does not reboot right after 5 seconds. The touch panel will go into maintenance mode after you held the reset button in for 5 seconds, then you can release and wait for the unit to be factory defaulted. It might take 5-10 seconds after you released the button at the 5 seconds mark for the unit to actually reboot.
