Hi teams!

I have been seeing a few cases lately where SpeechView works between  Unity Connection and Exchange/Outlook but then the users have  additionally configured ActiveSync with iOS 7 devices. The iOS 7 devices  never seem to get the SpeechView transcription. It never arrives on the  device. I have found that there is a setting on the Connection side  that will help fix this. For just one indivicudal, this can be fixed by  checking the "Hold till transcription received" checkbox under the  "Single Inbox Message Synchronization section on the individual's Cisco  PCA Web Inbox Settings page. To get to this page, login to PCA for the  affected user and choose Web Inbox. Once in Web Inbox, you can choose  the Settings menu. The checkbox for "Hold till transcription received"  is there. Here is a picture.

Documentation describing the feature:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/9x/unified_messaging/guide/9xcucumg020.html...

For a Single Inbox (SIB) user with the SpeechView transcription service, when the Hold till transcription received  option is enabled, the synchronization of a new voice message between  Connection and Exchange mailboxes will be done. The synchronization of  new voice messages will be done only when Connection receives the  transcription of the voice message from the third-party external  service. To enable the Hold till transcription received option; navigate  to Cisco Personal Communications Assistant> Message Assistant> Personal Options.

If the Hold till transcription received  option is enabled and Connection receives time-out/failure  transcription response from the third-part external service, then the  voicemail will synchronize between Connection and Exchange only when  Connection receives failure/time-out transcription response.

Note By default the Hold till transcription received option will be disabled.

Once this is checked, the iOS 7 device should start receiving the  transcriptions. Now comes the hard part. Typically these customers have a  number of users that need this setting fixed. There is no way to do this in BAT or Bulk Edit. Here are the scripts that need to be run in the CLI in order to change this for everyond in bulk.

admin:run cuc dbquery unitydirdb select activesync from vw_subscriber
activesync
----------

admin:run cuc dbquery unitydirdb update tbl_UserSubscriber set activesync=1
Rows: 4

admin:run cuc dbquery unitydirdb select activesync from vw_subscriber
activesync
----------

I hope this helps if you run into a customer that needs SpeechView transcriptions to work with their iOS 7 devices.

I just found this post.  Is it now possible for an Admin to selectively enable Hold till Transcription Received option for some users without the them doing this via the Personal Communications Assistant?

Ultimately the answer is no there's no way administratively from the GUI to accomplish this. However, you can contact Cisco TAC who can help you accomplish this via a SQL query for certain users.
