Core Issue
After a few IP Phones are deleted with the Bulk Administration Tool with a custom Input file with DeviceName, the BAT starts to randomly delete IP Phones. All types of phones are affected, which includes IP Communicator and ATA. The only way to stop the deletions is to reboot the Cisco CallManager Publisher server.
Resolution
This issue occurs when the option to Delete all the phones is pressed without a CSV file specification added to the query in the BAT under Configure > Phones > Delete Phones > Use a custom file.
This is also specified in the warning at the bottom of the window:
If you don't specify a template then deletes all the phones. If you do not specify a query, the operation applies to all phones.Note: Save Custom files at C:\BATFiles\Phones\Query\Delete\ on the publisher.
Refer to the Deleting Phones section of Bulk Administration Tool User Guide.
