Core Issue:-
This error can occur if you have upgraded to Unity 8.x and when changing virtual directories in IIS,you install a certificate in IIS and forced SSL requirements.After making these changes you can no longer access the SA page. It gives us Error 403 error that login is required to view the page. This error is given after it prompts for the password.HTTP 403 Forbidden means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.
Resolution:-
In the process of installing the SSL certificate, the default documents were removed in IIS so this was breaking its ability to launch the website.Under Default Web Site>Web>SA>Properties>Documents tab add the following documents that are missing:
- Default.aspx
- Default.htm
- Default.asp
- index.htm
- iisstart.htm
