Troubleshooting Methodology (step by step):

1) Configure the following commands on the CME (aka CUCM-E / Call Manager Express)
 
2911(config)#telephony-service
2911(config-telephony)#service phone pcPort 0
2911(config-telephony)#service phone spanToPCPort 0
2911(config-telephony)#create cnf-files


FYI: Above commands are case-sensitive, make sure you copy & paste them on the terminal emulator
 
2) Power cycle the IP phone
 
3) Connect the PC to the computer port on the back of the IP phone

 

4) Make sure Wireshark packet capture tool is installed on your PC
 
5) Start Wireshark & start packet capture on the interface which is connected to the IP Phone
 
6) Replicate the issue on the IP phone
 

7) Stop the capture & save it

Hi Ilana, The Communications Manager Express (CME) PC port only works on certain phones. Ensure the phone load is compatible with the CME version prior to testing.
