Core Issue

The Cisco CallManager route pattern does not place a call immediately. The route pattern waits for the H.225 T302 interdigit timer default value to expire (15 seconds).

Resolution

Overlap signaling can be allowed or denied for a particular route pattern. To configure these options, select or unselect the Allow Overlap Sending checkbox from the Route Pattern/Hunt Pilot Configuration window.

Note: The commands on the gateway apply to the H.225 timeout value for any route pattern that is configured for overlap sending.

To set the T302 timer when overlap signaling is used, issue the h225 timeout t302 command in H.225 voice-service configuration mode. Within the h225 timeout t302 seconds command syntax, "seconds" refers to the value assigned for timeouts. The acceptable range is between 1 and 30 seconds.

To change the interdigit timeout for all of the route patterns, perform this procedure:

  1. Open the Cisco CallManager Administration page.

  2. From the Service menu, choose Service Parameters.

  3. The Service Parameters Configuration window appears. Choose a server.

  4. Scroll down to T302 Timer (msec)*.

  5. Change the 15000 msec default value to the time desired.

As an alternative, use this route pattern for calls to be routed immediately:

9.XXXXXXX#

Note: It must be taken into account that the user must press the pound (#) key when finished dialing the number.

Under Called Party Transformation (on the same page where the route pattern is modified), select Trailing-# from the Discard Digits pull-down menu. This action makes Cisco CallManager remove the '#' that is dialed.
