These measurements are all taken with a ringer equivalency number (REN) of three attached to every phone line, with every phone ringing. This represents the maximum load on the box. With all the phones off-hook, this power reduces to around 120W. In the idle state, with all the phones on-hook, the power reduces to around 60W.
This data is not published because consumption is variable. The VG248 uses between 50W and 160W based on the number of phones plugged in and the state of those phones.
