UCS Manager Login Error
Login Error:
java.net.SocketException: SOCKS server general failure
Resoultion
- Click the Java applet option in the control pannel (WindowsXP Professional Screen shown here)
- Delete temporary files
- Delete UCS Application
- This should resolve the login failure issue
EXT3-fs error (device sda6) in start_transaction: Journal has aborted Error
Slow access or a change in storage path for the SAN triggers the OS to mount the file system as read only, breaking many things in the process.
The two most obvious symptoms when this happens are the console is usually flooded with:
EXT3-fs error (device sda6) in start_transaction: Journal has aborted
And when trying to login via the web, it fails with "Database communication error". If this happens it is most likely the issue mentioned in the following article on VMware site
