Core Issue

This issue occurs only in Cisco Unity 4.0(3) with the Microsoft Exchange 2000 voicemail system.

These are the steps that result in this issue:

1. Go to Subscribers > Add Subscriber > Add Details with Extension, and select the correct server and mailbox store.
   
   
2. Click Add. A subscriber is successfully created.
   
   The account is created in the Active Directory Users and Computers, and the properties point to the correct mailbox store. Also, RUS creates the correct details.
   
   
3. In the System Manager, select the correct server and mailbox store, then Add the mailbox.
   
   
4. Run the Cleanup Agent on the mailbox.
   
   It marks the new account with a red "x". After a server reboot, it creates a duplicate.

Secondly, these steps are performed in the Active Directory Users and Computers:

1. A test user and an Exchange mailbox is created.
   
   
2. A user is created in the Active Directory Users and Computers.
   
   
   Everything appears to be set up correctly in the Active Directory Users and Computers. However, the mailbox is not created in the System Manager.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, perform these steps:

1. Run the SysCheck diagnostic tool.
   
   
2. Run the Cisco Unity Directory Walker (DbWalker) utility.
   
   
3. Verify, under Services Control Manager, that all Cisco Unity services are configured to log on as the administrator.
   
   
4. Verify that the Cisco Unity service accounts have the correct permissions.
   
   
5. Verify that the correct version of the Permissions Wizard is used.
   
   
6. Run the Service Configuration Wizard.
   
   
7. Run the Message Store Configuration Wizard.
   
   
8. Restart the server.
