When you perform a gap analysis, you are making sure that you anticipate needs or problems that arise because of the differences between Cisco Unity and the previous voice messaging environment. The more thorough your planning at this point, the fewer hurdles you should encounter during deployment. It may help at this point to review some of the "gotchas" that other deployments have faced in the past that didn't crop up until later in the roll-out process.
