With Cisco Unity 4.0.3 and later, the Unexpected number of counters found in shared memory for AvIntegrationPerf. Unity performance data will not be available. Restart PerfMon and Unity to correct. 1015 error message is displayed in the Event Viewer
The Cisco Unity integration performance counters are unavailable. Using PerfMon, they do not show up in the list of counters that can be monitored. In addition, this event log warning is generated several times for each call to Cisco Unity:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: CiscoUnity_LogMgr
Event Category: Startup
Event ID: 1015
Time: 12:35:25 PM
Description: AvCsMgr: Unexpected number of counters found in shared memory for AvIntegrationPerf.
Unity performance data will not be available. Restart PerfMon and Unity to correct.
This error message is observed in Cisco Unity 4.0.3 and later. This behavior can be seen while upgrading or changing voice ports, while at the same time having the CUPID service or PerfMon running (or any other application that is attempting to collect Cisco Unity specific performance counters).
This problem is documented in the Cisco bug ID: CSCee25396.
Before using the workaround, make a backup of your registry.
Perform these steps:
Disable the CUPID service if it is installed on the Cisco Unity server. Stop any logging that PerfMon is conducting.
Open regedit. Delete the HKLM\Software\Active Voice\AvLogMgr\1.0\PerformanceCounterVariables registry key.
Reboot the Cisco Unity server. After Cisco Unity finishes the re-start, the Cisco Unity integration performance counters should be available. The registry key mentioned is re-created.
Note:: This workaround does not work on all occasions. Sometimes the warnings in the event log are caused by the AvLogMgrPerf.dll and AvLogMgrPerfAPI.dll not being upgraded to their correct versions during a Cisco Unity upgrade.
For the workaround, perform these steps:
Open the Services console from the Administrative Tools group under the Start menu. Stop the AvCsGateway service, which stops a number of other Cisco Unity services. Stop the CiscoUnityTdsProxy service. Stop the CsBridgeConnector if it is running. Stop the Telephony service. Stop the Cisco Unity Performance Information and Diagnostics service.
Copy the AvLogMgrPerf.dll and AvLogMgrPerfAPI.dll (from the \system\general directory on the installation media used to upgrade the Cisco Unity server) to the \winnt\system32 directory on the Cisco Unity server.
Reboot the Cisco Unity server.
