Hello,

Does anyone know the location of the CAD softare update on UCCX 8?  On version 7 I was able to naviagate to the directory that had the update and push it manually.  We've got restrictions in place that prevent the agents from upgrading the software, they don't have the correct privledges.  I haven't been able to find the location of the update on 8.

Thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric,

This should help

http://X.X.X.X:6293/TUP/CAD/CAD Clients Service Release.msi

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks!!!

I tried accessing that path on an 8.5(1) installation and get a 404 response. Has the path changed?

Also, is the MSI at this location only the patch; or, the whole installer?

Hello Jonathan,

The CAD installer can be downloaded from here:
http://:6293/TUP/CAD/Cisco Agent Desktop.msi

The patch will be here:

http://:6293/TUP/CAD/CAD Clients Service Release.msi

You'll get a 404 error for the CAD Clients Service Release.msi because there's no patch applied in your UCCX 8.5(1). It should work after you do an upgrade (ie to 8.5(1)SU1) and run the CAD Client Configuration.

Hi Jonathan,

I know its pretty late for the reply, but I was just browsing and thought I will reply.

In 8.5, you got the 404 error since the Service Release file does not exist.

From the root:

[root@uccx85 CAD]# ls

Administrator                    Cisco Supervisor Desktop.msi

Agent                            jre-6u20-linux-i586.bin

CadBE.properties                 jre-6u20-windows-i586.exe

CAD Client Configuration.msi     jre-6u20-windows-x64.exe

Cisco Agent Desktop.msi          Maintenance

Cisco Desktop Administrator.msi  Supervisor

As you can see, there is no Service Release.msi

If the user doesn't have install privileges, there might also be other privileges over and above that required.

We have a customer who upgraded from V4 to V8 and their profiles won't allow HR to be run and CAD/CSD personal preferences aren't preserved. They all worked fine under V4, so something has changed slightly. If we give them admin privs its fine. It's probably something to do with registry access ro local directory privs, but not fully located the specific cause yet.
