Hi all:

I have the following environment:

IPCC 4.5 Premium using Oracle client 10g.

Test connection between ODBC Datasource administration and data source its working. (From Control Panel, Administratives Tools, ODBC)

When i try create a new datasource from Enterprise Database Subsystem Configuration Option (IPCC admin page) i received this error:

Config Error occured creating the DataSource

What can i do to solve this issue?

Could You confirmed if you have version R2 or XE?.


Please verify the following on the drivers installed for the SQL server.

*SQL client drivers from Microsoft (causes problem with connections),
should not be installed. 
*SQL client drivers from Oracle (resolves the problem with the above problem), 
must be installed . 

You may try doing below:

 

*Oracle 10g comes with a media and it should have the clent part to be installed on 
CRS server, which I assume it has been installed. DNS name , UserID and password 
needs to be created during the installation.

*On the  ' start ' icon Oracle Should be listed as part of the 'programs'.

*When you click on it you should see a name with " Plus " as part of the name  
" Oracle Plus " or " ODBC Plus " 

* This application is just to verify that DSN name , User ID and Password will 
successfully makes the connection to the database. 

* You will see the confirmation that the connection successfully made to the database 

* OR Failure message will POP up

Hi Walter,

When you talk about: "Could You confirmed if you have version R2 or XE?." what do you want to know exaclty?

- What can i do to chek if SQL client drivers from Microsoft are installed?

- SQL client for Oracle is installed

In my Oracle icon i have "SQL Plus" and when i try to connect to database makes the connection

From Control Center, are there any services showing in partial or out of service status?

Do you have any other datastore already added in Enterprise Database Subsystem Configuration?

Please open CET tool and go to com.cisco.crs.edbs.DataSourceConfig. Are there any entries there for the existing datastores? Please send us a screenshot.

You might need to check traces to see additional information on why it fails. Please add LIC_DATABASE & DB_MGR debugging level for MADM and also including SS_DB for MIVR. Please try adding the datastore one more time and gather the traces just after that.

Hello,

The service should come up after successfully creating the data source.

It seems to me that AppAdmin cannot create the data source due to cluster mutex lock.

Please make sure there are no backups (or failed backups) running. Also please disable the scheduled backup if you have.

Please open CET from command prompt. Look for com.cisco.crs.cluster.config.LockConfig. Please check that Lock Owner,Lock Usage,Lock User Info should be empty (ie. just like this "").

If that doesn't help, please go to:
C:\Program Files\wfavvid\ClusterData\\com.cisco.crs.cluster.config.LockConfig
Rename all files in this directory to .old and then restart the Node Manager. Please check if the problem persists after that.

I have done all the tests, but the results remain the same. No backup are running. Rename the files suggested and restart server.if you have another suggestion, please let me know.
