Is there a way to install CCX Editor on OS different from Win with no hassle?

I know that I can use a VM but it'd be great if Cisco provide multiplatform software

Looks like you cannot:

https://developer.cisco.com/docs/contact-center-express/#!scripting-overview/what-client-specifications-do-i-need-to-use-the-unified-ccx-editor

To install the Cisco Unified CCX Editor independently of a Cisco Unified CCX
server, you need to install one of the following operating systems:

  • Windows 8.1
  • Windows 10

You can if you have UCCX 12.5.1.  From the UCCX 12.5.1 release notes:

Unified CCX Editor Web Launcher, a Java based application that is supported on Windows, Mac, and Linux has been introduced. You must download the .jnlp file (Java Web start) from the Cisco Unified CCX Administration in order to use the editor.
