Does anyone have a script that I can use as a framework to build my AA? I'm looking for a simple "thankyou for calling ABC company, press 1 for this, press 2 for that" type of scenario. I have been playing around with the sample aa script, but its too generic. I have searched google for sample scripts of an auto attendant application in UCCX, but have not been too successful.

Play Prompt and Menu Prompt come to mind as the first two steps you mention.
You won't find much outside of developer/support forums for UCCX related
scripts.
Your best bet is to read the step reference guide (number 2 in the
programming guide series i believe) and fool around with making scripts. If
you have a specific "how do i do... x", the forums are a great resource to
use.

You can also check in the repository; there're a couple of sample auto-attendant script called Standard Menu and Advanced Menu. Maybe it will get you started:

I meant check in this link:
There's a zip file for UCCX 7 with some scripts called http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_7_0/design/guide/script_repository_701.zip'Cisco Contact Center Express Script Repository'. Most should work the same with UCCX 8. not sure why it's also called repository
