CRA script editor

Is the 3.5 CRA editor backward compatible with a 3.1 system? I was told that you need to use the 3.5 editor on a 3.5 system, but I still have many 3.1's I maintain. Thanks in advance ... Dave

Hi,

The scripts are forward compatible but not backwards.For example:3.0(3a) scripts can be opened in 3.1(2) but 3.1(2) can't be opened in 3.0(3a).

Yes, you need to use the editor that comes along with that CRA system.

Just an FYI, if you open a script after an uograde in CRA, you must convert and save it, then reopen it to ensure it works correctly.

And just as FYI, if you open a script after an upgrade to CRA, you must convert and then save that script.
