Hi Mike,

For a normall call, below are the interactions would happen and could cause delay.

1) Ingress Gateway to setup the SIP Signalling

2) Vxml Gateway sends a PING message to CVP Call Server.

3) Vxml Gateway receives the Call Server Root document ---- Large Transfer which could cause Delay

4) Vxml Gateway receives the Vxml Servers Application root document. ----- Large transfer which could cause Delay

After all the above steps completed then only the VXML document is passed to the Vxml Gateway and the prompt will be played.

Now there are ways to play some tones or wav files while all these above steps are in process. But chossing the correct wav file as per your environment or the call flow is important.

Senthil

Hi,

What is the connectivity between, Ingress/Vxml Gateway and the CVP.

Is the connection over WAN, What is the Network Latency.

Network Latency should be lesser that 200ms round trip. This is recommended Value.

Regards,

Senthil

Hi Senthil,

it is IP VPN network based on ISP MPLS,

we have a variete of channels with netlatency from 20 to 180ms.

For example, GW with bw 2Mbps and 26ms latency has playing delay 1-3 sec

for GW with bw 384kbps and 180ms latency has playing delay 7-up 20 sec.

I prioritised trafic from CVP servers up to voice trafic ( dcsp ef).

Based on information provided by integrator that delay because of first instruction file which send CVP server ( near 17k).

Mike
