Do we need to add SRV records in DNS for adding VXML gateways to SIP Server Group on CVP server?

We have some doubt for adding VXML gateways to SIP Server Group on CVP server.

As below configuration tell us to add SRV Domain Name FQDN for example "vxmlgw.cisco.com" << If we use Domain name "abc.org" do we need to add "vxmlgw.abc.org" and also add SRV Records in DNS ? or it is not necessary to add it in DNS ?

Anyone can give us the advice to make us clearly understanding ?

Step 3   Create a server group for the gateway devices:
  1. On the General tab, click Add New.
  2. In the SRV Domain Name FQDN field, enter the SRV Domain Name FQDN. For example vxmlgw.cisco.com.
  3. In the IP Address/Hostname field, enter an IP address or hostname for a VXML gateway in the deployment.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Repeat Steps c and d for each VXML gateway as appropriate for the deployment and branches. Click Save.

Adding all VXML gateways to the server group will load balance calls across all the member server group gateways

Hi,

It is not necessary to add it to the DNS as a record. Nor using the real domain. You can just add it as "vxmls.test.local" and it'll still work as long as you'll use this specific FQDN when configuring local static routes in the SIP section for the CVP.
