Team: We need to understand multi-language

support for EIM 4.3.2. Is this license driven? Can an agent login into a different language other than English on the CIM agent console?

Can an author do translation of a KB article from English to say French? Is this license driven? Where exactly is the Export button on the user interface?

Can an author or agent view KB articles in the language they log into?

Also on the topic of auto acknowledgements we tried inserting an image and does not seem to work in-line. Attachment is fine but we need to insert images in-line. Thank you.

[Gaurav] Yes

Can an author do translation of a KB article from English to say French?

[Gaurav] Yes, You need to explicity assign the "Import Translation" and  "Export Translation" actions to the authors who need to perform these  tasks.

Can an author or agent view KB articles in the language they log into?

[Gaurav] Not tested yet but you can translate a CB and try this

Please see the Multilingual Content chapter in the KB user guide at:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust...ce_userguide_knowledgebase.pdf

Also on the topic of auto acknowledgements we tried inserting an image  and does not seem to work in-line. Attachment is fine but we need to  insert images in-line.

[Gaurav] will get back to you on this after performing a test in lab.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Gaurav Thakur.

Also on the topic of auto acknowledgements we tried inserting an  image  and does not seem to work in-line. Attachment is fine but we need  to  insert images in-line.

[Gaurav] follow below steps to achive the same.

Save the images to be used on File system at below location

CIM\eService\web\image\platform\custom\Article_image

1 Create the article.

2. go-to content tab and we have two tabs layout and source.

3. Under layout add the article.

4. go-to source tab and add a htm tag [<IMG src="http:///system/web/image/platform/custom/Article_image/test.JPG" height=60 width=100> ] the place where you want the article to be viewed.

5. Save it.

Note - This is not a supported approach.

Regards,

Gaurav Thakur.

Thank you for your responses. I will try the suggestions.

Could you answer how does an agent login to a different language? Is that an attribute or action one needs to assign an agent?

How does the screen look like? Thanks again.

Advanced licence required, of course.

In the Tools interface you set up the languages you want to allow, and when an agent hits the login page, there is a drop-down list and you can select the language. Say you select Spanish - now when the UI comes up, it will be in Spanish. If you log out and come back, even the log in screen will be in Spanish and Spanish will be default selected in the drop-down.

Check the Tools Guide.

Regards,

Geoff
