Hi,
it's not absolutely necessary to create a backup of the awdb database, but you must back up the Logger database(s).
What you see is normal. The Initialize Local Database tool deletes everything from the awdb and replaces it with the information taken from the Logger(s). It does not work the other way.
I have written a couple of scripts that dump the following databases:
- Logger A and B
- Outbound Option - BA A
- HDS
- certain registry subtrees from all the servers
Should be enough.

Hi,
do you get an error message when trying to start up the Config Manager? If yes, can you post it?
Also, can you post the Distributor logs (turn them up in the registry, dump them, post them to here).
The process you have described (restore Logger A db, sync to B) is fine, then it's perfectly enough to run the Initialize Local Database tool at the AW, it should flush the config and sync the AW database, you don't have to manually sync Logger to AW/Distributor.

Hi,
use the dumplog utility:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/custcosw/ps1001/products_tech_note09186a00800ac599.shtml
I need the EMS traces for the following processes:
- AW:
edt (aw\logfiles)
rpl (dis\logfiles)
uaw (dis\logfiles)
rtd (dis\logfiles)
clgr (dis\logfiles)
rtc (dis\logfiles)
- Logger (everything in la\logfiles):
clgr
rcv
rpl
hlgr
Also, please make sure you are connected to the console session when trying to start up the ConfigManager.

Hi,
I don't see anything suspicious there. Replication log shows replication is OK.
Are you sure you are trying to start up the Config Manager from a console session?

hello,
From UAW logs, I could see Recovery Key mismatch, Have you done any kind of importing the config data into the AW Databse ?
