Hi All,

My name is Munish. i am trying o setup ICM with IPIVR in my lab. my logger, router, distributor and PG are all coming up fine. but the CUCM PIM and VRU PIM are showing as IDLE. i am not able to get the CTI RP registered. the JGW process logs are showing that its able to communicate to callmanager as i can see the phone numnber i have associated to the JTAPI appliation user i have created on CUCM.

as i am new to the ICM, i am not exactly sure which logs to look for. and is it ok for PIMS to shpw IDLE or they should remain active all time.

please advice.

thanks

Munish

Hi Munish,

You may double check the below steps for verifying CUCM PG UP & Active.

CUCM Configuration:
Goto CUCM and create one application user "cucmpguser" and associate the CTI Route Point with thi user.

Associate All CTI Permissions to the user.

Access CUCM from ICM Machine and browse for Pluggins and download  JtapiClient for Windows and install it on PG server.

ICM Configurations:

Goto Admin Workstation> PG Explorer > and configure your PG for CUCM and note down your peripheral name,  logical ID &  peripheral id .

Run ICM Setup, choose peripheral gateway, select node as Side A or Side B, then from client type selection choose CallManager, Click Next,

Now enter your logical controller id and click Add. enter peripheral name, peripheral id, agent extension length.

Service: , User ID : < Application User Name>  , Password < Password for Application User Name> and click OK and then Next.

Your CUCM PG will now be UP & Active.

For CTI Route Point to get registered.

Make sure it is associated with CCMPGUSER (application user) and configure Dialed Number/Script Selector by the CTI Route Point Number. Your CTI Route Point will get registered now.

Thanks,

Manish

HI Manish,

thanks for your help on this.

i have done all these steps but i would check it once again. the question i have is in my case the generic PG's peripheral id and cucm_pim peripheral id is the same 5000 and the VRU PIM's peripheral id is 5001. i am not sure if this is correct or it shoud be different.

also in jgw's log i can see that its able to communicate to CUCM as the user in CUCM has one phone and CTI RP associated with it. so in JGW logs i can see that it is able get the status of the phone but not RP.

just to inform you. i am using win 2003 sp1. sql server 2005 sp2. cucm 8.5

i would update you after verifying the steps you have mentioned.

thanks

Munish

Hi Munish,

Please check the staging document. You need Windows 2003 Standard/Enterprise Edition SP1, Windows SQL Server 2005, SP3.

If CUCM is your first PG then Peripheral ID & Logical ID would be same. and for CVP your Periheral ID would be different (may be 5001, if cucm is 5000)

Manish

Hi Munish,

Peripheral IDs are OK. I think you did it wrong during the PG setup. Please see the attached screenshot, those 2 will help up to setup the PIMs. Also do not forget to install CUCM JTAPI plug-in in the PG servers. During the setup also check you have given the proper logical controller ID or not.

Please rate if it is helpful.

Thanks and Regards,

Ashfaque.

Hi Hossain,

thanks for your inputs.

i verified my setup with the screen shots you have given and that configuration part is correct. i might be doing wrong somewhere else. i have done this lab setup 5-6 times now. but i have no clue where i am making mistake. rest all processes comes up fine. it just this PG which i casuing issues.

any logs that you can suggest to look into.

thanks

Munish

Hi Munish,

Check the instance number. Sometime if you run the setup more then once then 2nd time it become 1. just make sure that for all the icm component (Logger, Router, AW, PGs etc) instance number is same. Also if possible please send me the screenshot of PG explorer's Peripheral tab (for ccm and ipivr) as well as the installation screenshot of the PG. Moreover during the PG setup did you select both Call manager and VRU option. Also check the visible and private IP addresses.

Thanks and Regards,

ashfaque

Hi Hossain,

please see the attachment. as far as instance id is concerned, i repeated the installation on a new box each time. but still how would i check the instance id. also one thing i noticed is that in the roterA ccagent the connection is received from loopbacj address is that fine. everywhere i see this loopback ip address. is this expected.

i have selected both callmanager and VRU in PG property.

thanks
