IPCC 5.0(2) Server Windows Updates

We are using Windows 2000 SE for our IPCC server and we need to do Windows updates.

I have been told months ago that we can get the updates from:

The version is 2003.1.2a SR13.

I just checked the link and it seems that SR13 is no longer the latest one.

I see that they have 2003.1(2a)_SR15.

Should I use this SR15 instead of 2003.1.2a SR13.

Below is the link for 2003.1(2a)_SR15, Can someone confirm?

ALSO, if I do the 2003.1(2a)_SR15, for the next Windows updates, I just need to check this link and find if they have the latest updates 2003.1(2a)_SR(XX)

I always recommand waiting couple of weeks after an SR comes up before applying it to the servers as at times an issue is identified in the field upon the SRs release. Either way if SR15 is the latest it means it's got some additional OS fixes, so you can review the release notes to see what those are and if they are applicable to you.

Hello,

As you say you have Windows 2000 installed you should not use Windows 2003 patches, as far as I now.

The way to find patches is in Software Downloads, Voice Software, IP Telephony , Call Control, Cisco Unified Communications Manager and then for Windows 2000 search in Release 4.2, and for Windows 2003 search in Release 4.3, and then Voice Application OS and BIOS update.

I have installed today for CCX 5.0(2) with Windows 2003.1.2 2003SR15 patch directly. The path tool automatically stop the CCX services.

I recomend that you search the link your self instead of using direct hyperlinks.

Hi all, Sorry, I use Windows 2003 SE.

Any advise before I download/run the .exe file.

I have downloaded it in my desktop and run it. it says that you can not run it using Terminal Services. Is TS = RDP?

I would like to do it via VPN-RDP so i can do it remotely after hours.

Correct, RDP = terminal services which is not supported with Cisco installers.

If you want to do the install remotely I would suggest installing Real VNC and running over it.

So it is a time again I need to do Windows Update. Out IPCC server is 5.0(2)_Build064

What would be the latest update for my IPCC server from this download link?

I think I did 2003.1(2a)_SR15 last time.

I am still confused on how to pick/choose the Operating System Upgrade from Cisco link below:

Does 2003 means any Win 2003 OS?

What does .1(2a) or (4a) means?

and What does SR# means, I guess it is the latest release?

Should i use 2003-1-2a-sr21 or others?

Correct, 2003 means Windwos 2003 server based OS.

1-2a, etc inducates a revision of Cisco's OS, basically MS patches on top of it.

I've had good luck with 2003.1.2 and 1.3 trains If you are looking for a particular MS hotfix resolution checkout the release notes for these OSes to see if it's incorporated in the one you are installing.
