jabber through vpn for message recording in uccx version 11.5

in our implementation a script for message recording is deployed. An agent using a 8851 with g711ulaw codec calls in a specific trigger in order to record new messages, that then are uploaded to uccx. we need to replace the phone with jabber for remote functionality through VPN. Would be possible to have the same functionality (recording) both on premises and remote?

The Jabber device will be using MRA or connecting over VPN.  So in both cases it would technically be "on net".  So they would dial the same number string to access the prompt recorder.

If you want someone to call in from an outside line (cell or home number) you would need a translation pattern of a DID to your prompt recording trigger.  If you do it that way make sure you need to authenticate to the prompt recorder with a PIN.  That should be set up regardless.
