LB CAC and CUBE

I am back after 2yr of program management and TAC deployments at Cisco.

Now assisting and architecting one of Cisco's biggest clients.

Lots of unknowns and as usual bigger the client complex are simple issues.

I have multi site multi (ICM)  instance CVP environment.  Some remote sites have bandwidth concerns and needs queueing at the edge for DID's.

LB CAC is one one possible solution sought.  Verint is in the mix too.

Media is all centralized however we have both 7.11 and 7.29 codecs in play.

Question 1:  LB CAC and CUBE are they related any way if so do they work as same, complimentary or against each other?

What is CUBE and why would you use it when there is no need for transcoding?

Thanks,

Baseer.

Completely independent of each other with different purpose.

LBCAC basically allows you to configure cvp for directing calls where you want.

Cube is border element, basically a gateway to SIP trunk provider, which creates a demarc point and provides sip authentication, signaling negotiation, among other things.
