Cisco brotheren I need a little advise. I am building out a CIM Distributed design and the customer decided they needed Web Chat call back which of course needs a Media Blender server. Here is my delima All of the CIM servers are in a DMZ except for thr DB servers and the UCCE servers are in the internal network and the CMB needs to intract with both.
Basic design
DMZ Internal
CIM-------------FW---------------UCCE
I your experiences what is the best pratcie where to locate the CMB
In the DMZ with the rest of the CIM or in the internal with UCCE. See attached drawing from the SRND
Also I need port numbers for CMB can not seem to find them on CCO

David,
I have only implemented WIM with the web server in the DMZ. I don't see any restrictions in the 4.3 SRND, but the 4.4 SRND states:
"Firewalls must not be configured between Cisco Interaction Manager and Unified CCE, or between Cisco Interaction Manager and Cisco Media Blender. "

I am surprised you put ALL CIM servers in the DMZ.
I would have thought the DB server (which you have) and the services server, along with the app servers, would go inside the network, and just have the web servers in the DMZ. I have only used the MB in a proof-of-concept/lab set up where it was all internal.
Regards,
Geoff

My current customer wanted everything in the DMZ and only the DB servers are outside in the internal network.

That is new was just getting into 4.4 I not sure why since Media Blender uses the same ports as APP and Services servers. Let me review the 4.4 SRND and see if that is based on collocated deployment or distributed.
